Thanks for that info Paul. I guess the moral of the story is not to take no for an answer.
This problem of not being offered a partial circumcision appears to be a recurring one - it makes you wonder how many people have had full circumcisions because they trusted the advice of their consultant that a full circ was the only treatment....
Anyway, I'm working abroad at the moment but when I get back at Christmas I'll talk to my GP (who's a really nice guy) and explain the situation to him. Hopefully he'll be able to refer me to a different consultant.
Cheers guys
>Guys,
>I had a partial Cric on the NHS nearly 2 years ago now. My story is on this site somewhere. I was told that a full circ was the only answer but made it quite clear to them that I wanted only a partial circ.
>The Consultants houseman (intern) if that is the right name for his junior was adamant that only a full circ would do. I was persistent and said that if it didn’t work they could do a full one later but I wanted to keep as much foreskin as possible. On the day of the op they were all checking that I only wanted a partial and the consultant himself (first time I had met him) was very pleasant and agreed that it was no problem to do a partial. The worst bit was having to explain this in the ward with only the curtains round the bed!!
>I would say come over here and see the consultant I had but I am on the Isle of Man and I don’t think that they would do it on the NHS here unless you lived on the island.
>My advice would be to stand your ground and make sure that you get what you want. A partial circ has worked wonders for me and cured my phimosis. The whole thing was relatively painless - more embarrassing than anything else. My foreskin is still long enough to cover the head and feels great for masturbation and sex. I just wish I had got it sorted years ago (I was 30 when I had it done).
>Good luck and if you have any questions just.

>>>Hi guys,
>>>I've had a phimotic ring for around 4 years now, and being a typical guy I was too embarrassed to see a doctor about it until last year. When I eventually swallowed my pride and went to see my GP, he referred me to a Urologist in Newcastle upon Tyne.
>>>It would appear that this particular Urologist is from the old school because after examining me he recommended a full circumcision and when I raised the possibility of a partial circumcision he said that it wasn't possible. I've read a lot of documentation about phimotic rings and LSA, and I'm happy that there's nothing strange or complicated about my case so I'm a bit upset about the whole thing. I refused his advice and told him that I'd rather live with it than lose my foreskin.
>>>Therefore, can anyone give me the names of Urologists in Northern England (either NHS or private - I really don't care, I just want to get this sorted out!) who could offer me a second opinion and hopefully offer to carry out a partial circumcision?
>>>Thanks in advance,
>>>Steve
