As an answer to: CIRP Org is a Problem! written by Peter at 02 Oct 2000 19:24:17:
>Hey, cirp org is an advocacy site..it is not in the least balanced as this one is.....fanatical anti-circucison views are not what I like about this site.which tries to provide help and balance. There is nothing wrong with wanting or getting a circumcision, after all, in some cases.
Peter, your point is well taken. Most people using this site (as opposed to cirp org) make a real effort to be helpful to others who want straight answers instead of alarming, unsubstantiated allegations. Certainly the whole world doesn't need circumcision, but there are specific situations and problems where it is of real help. If any of us can supply needed information, fine. But there is no justification whatever for trying to impose our own opinions (whatever they are) on the next person. Also, frothing at the mouth and raving can accomplish nothing positive, and this is certainly a time when calm, positive help is needed by a lot of people. My strong belief is that whether I am, or am not circumcised is a legitimate concern of, at most, 2 people in the world: myself and my significant other. It is no concern of yours, or anybody else's. By the same sign, whether you are or are not circumcised is no legitimate concern of mine or anyone else but your significant other. This letter's much too long, but I just wanted to support you in your stand against fanaticism. Keep up the good work! Cheers, Bob.
