Ovestin Cream for phimosis??????

Hi people,

I'm the same person who previously wrote a message:

Well today, I saw my doctor regarding my condition (ie: phimosis). I told him that I had read about the use of cream (I couldn't remember the name betamethasone, so I didn't tell him any names) in treating phimosis.

Anyway, finally he gave me a prescription for a cream, I couldn't read his hand-writing (as usually). After buying it, I see it is not betamethasone. It is:
Ovestin Cream
Oestriol 1 mg/g
Antimicrobial agent: chlorhexidine hydrochloride, 0.1 mg/g

A funny thing:
When buying it, the chemist asked me if it was for my wife and I said (of course) no. Now I can understand why he asked me that because on the packet is a sticker labelling it: "Ovestin VAGINAL cream".

I don't have the faintest idea why the doctor gave me this. I don't even know if it is the right cream. So, I thought I'll ask the "accidental" experts here before I use it. By the way, I remember the doctor claiming that this cream (ie: the one he prescribed) is typically only used for treating phimosis in children.

Also, thanks to Nick, R J Knight and Sunburst for their reply to my previous message. Advanced thanks to those replying to this message.
