Phimotic Ring + BXO

I trust this may be of interest to assist medics and others with a similar problem. I write non technical news for a pharmacy magazine from time to time. However after reading through the sort of treatments currently being used for the above complaints my own personal experience may encourage others to use topical treatments, rather than radical surgery.
---------------------------
Back in June 2000, I discovered a ring round my 'old man!' and at 66 years with few health problems I was increasingly concerned.
I went along to the doctors for advice. The ring was not tight enough to stop urination, but increasingly inflexible.
Never suffered from this previously.

Prior to attending the surgery I checked out various sites including 'nocirc' offerings. What emerged was alarming to say the least. Steroids, dorsal slitting, circumcising , even one using skin grafts from eyelids!
Discussing everything other than surgery with my doctor he said medics (G.P's) did not like prescribing anabolic steroids which was indicated in American sites, but try this -

ECONACORT - Econazole Nitrate Hydrocortisone cream 10 mg + Hydrocortisone 10 mg - apply 7 days maximum (because of my age) -
repeat after a break if necessary. Urine sugar tested OK (A problem often associated with BXO)

Result:- in spite of four sessions the problems of the Ring.
And Balanitis ( I found out what the end patches were later) -
No benefit.

Whilst rechecking the Internet on Phimosis in December I came across a BXO feature with images.
Photo and description clearly showed my malady's identity.

Treatments :- WOW! operations, laser treatment, strip surgery.
As is usual James Bond was on the T.V. at this time of the year.
'Goldfinger' with the laser cutting through metal - the thought created shock waves.
Lasering a chap's pride and joy - Ugh!
Aware a different type used - CO2 laser.

December 29 th - due to excessive soreness and cracking of the ring, lesions - returned to the doctor.

DAKTACORT CREAM prescribed. miconazole nitrate 2.0% hydrocortisone 1.0%.
Janssen-Cilag - U.K. & Belgium.
Though obviously available in America according to our research.

Three times a day after washing & thorough drying.
I concentrated on the ring for seven days rolling back the foreskin as much as possible. - ( briefing declares 'after application do not cover' )

Then attention to the red patches on the tip after this initial sequence.

Result:- Day 11 - ring almost disappeared, no soreness though cream appears to have taken off the surface skin, wrinkled also.
Continuing with the applications and now look to removing the red patches, part of which already disappeared.

Not circed, hetro married 21 years, don't cast it about.

Ends.
