So far I've seen one urologist that recommended the full circ but now that I've visited this wonderful resource I have some other ideas in mind (partial circ or dorsal slit). I would have gotten the full circ had I not visited this website because it's probably the easiest way to deal with my problem. Now that I have alternatives, I just need to seek out a urologist willing to help.

>So far as appearance goes, a dorsal slit can run all the way from a tiny cut so short it's hardly noticeable (I knew a guy who'd had this done as a baby, & it was hardly visible when flaccid, and his foreskin totally disappeared behind the glans when erect) to a much longer cut that leaves 2 more or less triangular flaps behind the partially-exposed glans. You're more or less at the mercy of your doctor, of course, and what experience he/she's had with this procedure. If you know a doctor well, or find one you can talk to without either of you getting up-tight, you may be able to arrive fairly easily at an understanding of what you want. By partial circ I'm assuming what is meant is that a good bit of the foreskin is cut off the top of the penis while most of the foreskin on the under side is left in place, but of course again you're dependent on how the doctor interprets this procedure. Maybe Robin Stuart's forum is clearer about this than I interpret it, but I think it needs to be clear in your own mind (and the doctor's!) what is meant by the term. (So far as appearance is concerned, a full circ (if well done)is the neatest-looking, but it takes longer to recover from the op than from a short slit, and it may be more than you want to deal with, as an adult who's grown up intact. I'm totally satisfied with mine, however, as are my lady friends) As a practical matter, anything that makes it possible for you to fully retract the foreskin whether flaccid or erect should get rid of problems in that area, so you'll not need to "go under the knife" (that sounds a bit dramatic for something as trivial as a d.s. -- yes, I know, where your penis is concerned, NOTHING is trivial!) more than once. You might want to know how your prospective bride feels about what you plan to do, since she'll be concerned with the outcome. Most American women seem to prefer a circumcised partner, but that's probably because that's what they've been accustomed to, for at least the last 50 years; on the other hand, some of them on occasion are quite happy with the old-fasioned kind. So, you've got 2 or 3 options, & what you choose is very much up to you (or the two of you!)
