Ok, UKD, first noting that every human being responds to physical challenge in his own way, so my experience may not be the same as what you feel, I would not expect more than 4 or 5 days pain (but with your sensitivity it may be as much as a week), followed by "awkwardness" (as you term it) for some days after this as the op heals. After a month everything should be fully healed and should be feeling more or less "normal". If you really want the procedure, you'll probably find it worth the trouble, because after you're over it, there are NO MORE PENIS PROBLEMS (provided you manage to avoid catching any STDs)! Of course your physician, like many in the UK, may consider circumcision totally unnecessary and may try to discourage you. Furthermore, how well the op and its outcome go may depend to some extent on the experience the doctor has had with it. But, it's your life, etc., and should be your decision. Best wishes, RJK.
