>Without needing to cure a phimosis problem, I ended up with a trim of about 38 X 1" acroos the tip of my foreskin , only on the upper side to preserve the sensitive skin area around the frenulum. This was done to restore and improve the ability to keep my foreskin retracted behind the glans. After all the foreskin is probably the oldest version of an overcenter device. The reason I wanted the default to be to expose the glans is that about a century ago, before the mid 1900 high cirs rate in the US, there wer Drs. suggesting that if your were capable of training your foreskin to remain retracted ther would be benefits in easier cleanliness and better disease rejection, which is no less true today.

Since I have enough skin to cover the glans and keep it covered wearing jockey shorts (barring erections) I tried several months of the covered way to check on sensitivity. My glans got moist and shiny. Sensitivity change was mainly that my wifes touch resulted in pain rather than pleasure. Washing could not remove odor from urine that soaked into the skin. So I'm back to wearing that foreskin behind the glans and enjoying seeing that exposed clean glans. Actually o guy could put a few drops of veg oil on a circed penis, stick it in a plastic sandwich bag for half a day and do as well. With the restorers, most of their "gain in sensitivity" comes from between the ears, the resuly of 24 hr a day attention to the penis.

I find it odd that the Drs. are the only hirelings that are so hard to convince to do what the customer wants. They should be getting lessons in how little skin can be removed. Should be able to choose your end result- complete tight circ, release a phimosis or try for a design that enhances the over center choice for having it both ways.

BTW, I happened to look up when lying at a nude beach and between me and the ocean was a gentlmean that had a clean circed look on top and quite a flap of skin hanginging from the frenular area- so now I know there are few of us with this style. To clarify 1" accrossthe width, not a 1" slit 3/8 wide.
>Just a question about the dorsal slit... does the remaining foreskin flap over? I've seen some pretty scary pics on pro-circ sites that make this alternative seem pretty unappealing.
>>If the cream doesnt work consider a dorsil slit. I had the surgery about 6 weeks ago and I have had no problems, Im very pleased with the results and I had a very quick recovery. If you can retract your foreskin when flaccid you can get away with a very small slit.
