Diabetic Phimosis

I'm a 41 year old male, sexually active (intercourse at least once a day, more often twice when there's no pain!), diagnosed with diabetes around three years ago (under treatment with insulin). Around a year ago I changed girlfriends, and found that my foreskin appeared to be ripping after intercourse, causing vertical slits along the foreskin. There is also a hardening of the skin which I couldn't explain. The splitting is a very painful experience, particularly when washing in the shower or when having sex. The slits would 'heal' after a day or so but have had the effect of diminishing the want for sex.
During the past year I went back to the old girlfriend for a short while, and found I didn't have any problems - I'm back with the other one now and the problem's returned. Until I found this web-site I thought the problem must have been something to do with acidity levels in the vaginas of the two girls being different, but now I just think that the old one's vagina is 'looser' than the other, so there's not as much rubbing to cause the splits to occur.
I came across this website after doing some research on Celestone-V cream (cortisone cream), which I'd bought to get rid of a serious case of crutch rot. I found the reference to phimosis (which I'd never heard of), one variation of which fits my condition exactly. So I've begun using the cream on my foreskin (yesterday) to see if it has any effect - from what I've read I expect to see some improvements in the next week or so. I'll keep you posted on the outcome.
