>>I went to the urologist and he has suggested that I be circ. I am 39 yo married and scared of the operation. Can anyone tell me what the surgery is like- I dont want to lose sensitivity and want to have good sex with my wife/ The sex now it ok - but since the skin will not pull back easily- it is not very sensitive. If anyone can tell me what the operation is like and what it is like afterwards and will I survive? I am so scared and dont want anyone to know except my wife- it is embarassing. I know my parents will want to know why I am wearing boxers and walking around in my robe for a week - I am also embarassed to tell my wife's relatives too. HELP! Any words of wisdom to help me would be very much appreciated. Thanks Gary
Gary, circumcision is no big deal, but if you're scared of the operation and don't want your parents & others to be involved, it's a good idea for you to avoid having it done. This doesn't mean there's nothing you can do about the tight skin, however. A short dorsal slit performed by a doctor who knows what he/she is doing would take care of the problem in short order, and heal quickly too. This is easy for me to say, of course, but probably less easy for you to sort out. Too bad that some things which should be very simple can become so difficult at times. If you lived in Denmark, you'd not have this problem because they would have taken care of it with minimal pain & fuss when you were in primary school. Ah, the problems of being Anglo-Saxon (if there is such a thing)! Good luck! rjk.
