penile discomfort

I started to experience some uncomfortable sensations from my penis around eight weeks ago. These have ranged from over-sensitivity and 'electric shock' type sensations, to feelings of iciness and (rarely) sharp occasional pains. Some days I have been fine, others not so good. I am circumsised, there are no discharges, everything appears to be visually normal, I can pass water easily, and get erections. After about six weekss, my doctor referred me to a Consultant Urologist following Hydrocortisone cream treatment, Caneston (thrush) cream, and antiboitics all of which proved to be unsucessful. The Urologist was equally mystified, following discussions and external examination, as the condition had not worsened in the weeks previously and also varied from day to day. He suggested that it may disappear as suddenly appeared, and also that my focus on the problem could be worsening things as could any stress related pressures from my job. (After that I felt ok for about three days!)
Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated.
