As an answer to: discharge from penis written by ian at 24 Apr 2001 17:28:40:
If the discharge has been there "forever"; is clear, painless and tests
negative for infection, including Chlamydia PCR, then it definitely
sounds as if you can just forget about it.It sounds like "pre-cum"; secretion of the para-urethral and/ or
Cowper's glands which connect to the urethra below the prostate at the
base of the penis. Its function is to wash out residual urine ready for the passage of
semen at ejaculation. It is sweet to taste (urine of course, is bitter,
as is semen). It is generally produced in consequence of sexual stimulation, though
not necessarily the same nature of stimulation as gives you an erection
so for example, you may be aware of or discussing something sexual but
not have an erection, yet start producing this fluid. The amount varies widely
with the person and the situation, some men never noticing it (though
presumably it is still present during intercourse), whereas you are
probably at the other end of the spectrum, producing it so readily that
you are not even aware of any provocative factor (though such a factor
could even be the discussion with the doctor itself).Does this match up?
Now just a minor clarification as to detail. This discharge does not
come from the testicle, and does not contain sperm. It is most unlikely
to contain anything from the prostate either, except where it corresponds
to "straining" (in the same way as you might to pass a bowel motion)
which can cause some seminal fluid (including sperm) to be pressed out.
