Cus, to try to answer a few of your questions, here's my take, as one who's been there and survived, on what to expect: no, the pain is not unbearable after the operation; you may be given Tylenol or some similar mild painkiller, and that should be all you need. You should be able to wear your trousers without discomfort (provided they're not too tight-fitting!) although tight underwear should be avoided. Urinating should not give you any discomfort although you should take care to avoid getting urine on any bandages or on the scab, until it is totally healed. (Aim with caution!) You should be able to go to work 2-3 days after the operation; I did. If you can manage this, it's probably a good idea to do so since it will help keep your mind off your penis. The penis itself will probably be bandaged to some extent immediately after the op and thus not available to watch. After any swelling goes down and it starts healing, it probably won't be any more dreadful to see than any other guy's penis, although the sloughing off and smoothing out of the scabs can be a somewhat gradual process, taking a few days. A couple of weeks after the op, stitches should be out and scabs healed, but it probably will take somewhat longer for the "naked," exposed feeling to leave the glans completely. I thought this was never going to happen, then one day about a month after the circumcision I suddenly realised that my penis felt completely normal, and it's felt that way ever since, giving me no trouble whatever. And the convenience of having a penis that stays clean and trouble-free at all times is great! I hope you can get through it, and over it, soon with as happy an outcome as mine. Above all, don't panic. As time goes by, you'll probably believe, as I do, that's it's "no big deal." Best wishes, rjk.
