Go ahead & retract it, gently & repeatedly (up to 10 times a day) until it becomes loose enough to retract without putting excess tension on it. Don't be afraid of paraphimosis: if the foreskin gets stuck behind the glans, carefully & gently press this between thumb & forefinger until the trapped blood is forced out of the glans & the foreskin can be replaced in front of it. When you finish retracting, carefully wash the glans & foreskin with mild soap (e.g. Castile) in warm water before replacing the foreskin in front of the glans. This treatment repeated with patience over a period of days should end the problem. Good luck! RJK.
