I'm 27 years old and have just discovered (with the help of the internet and excellent sites like these) that I have phimosis and BXE.
It would seem that I have had this for as long as I can remember so I have never looked upon this as a problem and being a private person, have never compared with anyone else, so until now, have had no reason to think there was anything wrong with me.
Having looked around various sites and read through a series of postings on this board, some doctors would seem to wish to prescribe circumsision as the only treatment. I'm sorry, but I have no desire to let anyone with a scalpel anywhere near my penis while I'm still breathing.
I'm going to make an appointment with my doctor tomorrow and I would like some alternatives to this "treatment" to have with me in case that is what they recommend. I have read of people using a steroidal cream called Betamethasone and this sounds like a far less "brutal" treatment.
Can anyone tell me of their experiences with this and is it likely to be effective in my case?
