My stitches started to come out about 12 days after the operation. On day 14 the remaining two stitches were still in, so I cut them and pulled them out. Once they were out it was pain free.
If you can't do it yourself your GP might do it, or you could try A&E. I don't suppose it really matters who operated, as it is the Doctors responsibility to see that if you are ill, injured, or in pain, that your are healed.
