In regard to ladies, unless her panties are damp (or your hand, if it's in that place instead), then it isn't time for sex yet. Guys should also make a fair bit of lubricant if things are going right.
If you aren't that patient, or she isn't that interested, then one of the water-soluble lubricants is in order. Which is best? In America, "Astroglide" seems popular, but I'm not really sure there is much to pick. They all will lose effectiveness sooner or later and may need a "top-up", which is why some people like using oil but this tends to last too well and gets messy.
Perhaps you better mention what sort of or part of "sex" you mean?
