I only had surgery a few months back at age 25. I first went to the doctor at age 15, but he said it was okay - even though, when erect, the foreskin wouldn't retract and was painful. When I went to see the same Doctor earlier this year, he told me the same thing. As I knew there was a problem I booked an appointment with a consultant that deals only in this area and he, unlike my doctor, knew what he was talking about and advised me as to my options.

The procedure itself is pretty much painless. Other than the Local injection to "freeze" the area (that stings a bit).

I can totally relate to the fear/embarrassment in going to see a Doctor about it, but I can tell you that they have seen it all before and don't think anything of it. An examination of the foreskin/penis will only take a couple of seconds. It doesn't take a genius to listen to what the problem is you are having, then have a look, and make a diagnosis.
