Yes.

Having read a few posts, it does seem to be relatively easy to pick out the Americans from the others. Not least because in America it appears, from an outsider's perspective, to have become a political issue, albeit in an extremely minor way and only to those directly involved (I mean by contrast to abortion debates for example). Don't get me wrong: it seems to me that mass routine circumcision of babies in the USA is an outrage which ought to be accorded the same attention as female clitoridectomy in parts of Africa and elsewhere. (Parenthesis: I quite recognise that there are people who might disagree with this; I'd be happy to debate it). But given the British attitude to sex and sexuality, perhaps we're less willing to talk about it in those terms on this side of the Atlantic. As you would say over there, that's my 2c.
