Going to get a partial....

Well, after struggling with phimosis with several
years, and trying stretching along with steroid
creams, I finally went to my doctor and he suggested
I see a urologist. He looked and recommended a
full circumcision. He also mentioned other
methods such as the dorsal slit and the preputial-plasty.

Since I have quite an overhang of foreskin
(about an inch beyond the tip of my glans),
I think that a partial circumcision will
be the best option, since it means that
I can still have a covered glans.

Does anyone have any other tips for me?
For example, I've read that the surgeon
can preserve as much inner foreskin as
possible during the procedure, so retaining
the sensitive part. Has anyone asked for
this done, and did it help?

Any advice is wanted, particularly from
those who've undergone a partial.
