Candida and tight foreskins

>It is most probably due to a yeast infection called candida, for which the drugs clotrimazole or miconazole (Canesten, Clonea, Daktarin) are used as creams, readily available from the chemist (drug store), but will very likely respond to a quite basic soothing and mildly antiseptic salve such as Zinc and Castor Oil, sold for the treatment of napkin (diaper) rash on babies.

This has caught my attention. When I was a teenager I took oxytetracycline for years as a treatment for acne (didn't really work but when I asked my doctor about it he said to carry on). Now, I've read that long-term antibiotic use can upset the fungal/bacterial balance in the body, in the stomach and in the urinary works. Is it plausible to think that I've had a candida infection all this time, with the result that my urethral opening and also foreskin has been sore and hence I never stretched it like boys do normally? (See my older posts - it's stretched now). Perhaps I never had a tight foreskin, it was just that it hurt to stretch it because it was infected with candida.

All in the spirit of enquiry. Does this strike a chord with anyone else? Any advice on how to stop candida infections?

Richard
