>>You have made some good points, but regardless of how you try to paint the picture, removing any part of the foreskin or any other functional and healthy body part, no matter how big or small, is still considered mutilation. That is not a point that is debatable. It is self-evident by definition of the word.
>So is removing an appendix or tonsils, or cutting away a cancerous piece of skin or organ. The problems is that the general definition of "mutilation" has a very negative connotation associated with torture.
>Cosmetic surgery is not torture/mutilation since the goal is to improve the body in the eyes of its owner.
>Remember, we're not talking about a healthy penis forcefully circumcised. We are talking about a male choosing to have a deffective portion of the foreskin removed to allow the remaining foreskin/penis to function properly.
>What is important is to realise that circumcision is nothing more than cosmetic surgery and that as such, it is very important for the owner to discuss with the doctor exactly what he wants as a result (with the doctor advising what is and isn't possible).
>Is there really such a point to insist on keeping all of your skin by having a dorsal slit which may yield uneven results and poorer cosmetic results when a partial circ would achieve much better cosmetic results, a more even/cosmetic foreskin edge ?
>If the steroids/stretcbing won't work and surgery is indicated, why not go for the surgery that will yield the best results ?

If I was a Porn Star then maybe you would have a point. But, since im not in the skin flic business and I dont frequent nude beaches I dont think that the cosmetic results of a dorsil slit are an issue. Also, I dont think that there would be a problem If I was in the skin trade (maybe I should try this as a side job (idont think the wife would approve )) I dont think that "uneven results" are a problem with a dorsil slit. When the penise is erect you cannot tell that a dorsil slit has been performed. I have seen some very extreme pics of dorsil slits that have been done, maybe in that case you have a point. I think in those cases you either have a very "scissor happy" doctor or possiblly someone into "body modification". So yes, there is a point to keeping all of your foreskin. It allows the head of the penis to still be covered, It dosent change the sensations experienced in sex, you still have the "glide factor". MUCH MUCH MUCH faster recovery time compared to circumcism. I would compare having circumcision done to cure phimosis to a woman having a breast removed for finding a lump. Dorsil slit would be a lump removal. (ok, now im ready for the flames)
