As an answer to: This is a fantastic site written by Matt at 03 Dec 2001 03:25:03:
>Among a percentage of men... on erection it tightens to its limit, and then can even rip Furthermore, this mostly happens unsolicited, during the first sexual encounter. A moment of great alarm follows for both participants at the resultant bleeding."

> I'm an otherwise fairly healthy 28 year old male who has had sex numerous times previously, but never really on a regular basis, because of the pain involved. However now I'm in a fairly long term relationship. My phimotic ring and frenulum are small and short (respectively), and I've never had sex before with my penis uncovered. As well I never was able to get the foreskin over my glans during masturbation. As I began to have intercourse on a regular basis with my girlfriend I noticed the foreskin being able to fit over the penis more and more, and last week, i was able to have sex with the penis fully uncovered, but then I noticed a different, sharper pain, which must have been the frenulum stretching. I ignored it like a trooper, but then there was an intense pain, and when I stopped I noticed a lot of blood. I went to the washroom and noticed
>a small tear on the underside of my penis, in the frenulum. Now the next day, it's still slightly painful, but there's no bleeding, and everything seems OK. In fact, my foreskin seems to fit over my glans better than before. I'm planning to get an appointment with a doctor, just to have things checked out professionally, and I just want to know if everyone here thinks surgery is necessary in my case, or can the frenulum be stretched through exercise, and further sex with my very understanding girlfriend?
> Thank you all so much for your comments, and my deepest regards to the people who run this site and the sites associated with it. I don't feel so alone in my troubles now.I tend to agree with Spyros, and also advise caution. With the tear, you need ot allow some time for full healing or you'll have another tear "in" your hands. I think you should lay off of sex until healing is complete also. You might want to apply some vitamin E oil to the wound to get it to heal quickly and properly. In addition an application of a good antibiotic cream would help prevent infection. Don't fret over it though because it should heal quickly.
A trip to the doc isn't really necessary but that's your call. He may advise snipping the frenulum a bit to ease the tension, but it sounds like nature is taking its course without the need for such action. I'd go ahead with what Spryros has advised.
