Are you in fact tattooed?
Tattoos and body piercings are indeed popular currently. Speaking to those who are tattooed other than as a requirement of their occupation(!), I would say that ten years later, they are definitely having second thoughts, twenty years later they mostly wish they had never been so foolish, thirty years later, almost all are most apologetic about their appearance as they contemplate the eventual, cumulative effect this has had on their employability and their relationships.
Of course, some feel it is still a valid statement of their personality and others actually feel they have learned something about life as a result, managing as with a congenital or accidental disfigurement. It's quite an interesting philosophical question really. (;-)
