Just Starting Treatment for Phimosis

Firstly, thanks to whoever puts this page together. I stumbled back and forward across the web picking up little bits of info here and there until I found this site. All the info anyone can want is in here somewhere. My general views on the subject : I can't understand why anyone would go straight in for the drastic solutions. But I needed to get Betnovate ointment as I don't think I could have just strectched my foreskin without any "help", partly a thing of motivation. My visit to the doctors (which I was not looking forward to at all) was quite straight forward. Explained my symptoms, said what I'd seen on internet, and that I'd like to try Betamethasone. No examination, just a chat and some instructions how to use it and a prescription. (That was only info I couldn't find, whether Betamethasone was available in this country on NHS). That was yesterday, used it for the first time today. First question - I am a bit worried about getting the stuff on the head of my penis, but obviously some is going to get there, can it do any harm? Also, the only stretching the doctor suggested was pulling the foreskin back, when applying the stuff, will that be enough, or should I do more than that, and if so how? I will post any updates as things progress.
