Phimosis of partial circ scar

When I was partially circumcised some 18 years ago, I kept my remaining skin retracted for some time to ensure the scar healed properly and "wide". And after I started to wear the remaining skin over head, I did get a few short episodes of mild phimosis after long cycling days for instance (would loosen up within hours afterwards). After that first summer, I haven't since had any such problems.

Now, from what I hear about current partial circumcisions is that they leave the foreski over head during the initial healing process. Is that correct ? If so, have those who have had a partial circumcision had any temporary problems retracting their remaining skin initially ?

Did their doctors provide any information on how to handle the new penis with regards to avoiding formation of phimosis during the healing of the scar ?
