>When retracted the head of my penis feels absolutely awful to touch, it sends painful 'electric shock' through me that is almost crippling. Is this because it is overly sensitive due to being locked away behind that foreskin all these years? Is it normal, or have I perhaps got some kind of infection that makes it feel this way.
It could most likely be due to the fact the head is overly sensitive.
>This whole phimosis ordeal has made me withdrawn around women, I'm losing confidence etc, but the thing is, before I actually discovered that the foreskin was supposed to roll back I was perfectly happy.
Having a foreskin that does not function correctly is obviously going to knock your confidence. I suppose it's just a case that ignorance is bliss back when you did'nt know that it should retract.

That's up to you. Some men have an unretractable foreskin and have regular sex. Certainly it can limit sexual sensations and even cause pain in some instances, but I would assume they are somewhat happy with their status. On the other side of the coin though, some people that are able to resolve their problem can have "normal" sexual relationships. Sadly the options open to you to resolve the condition are limited. You could try stretching (which works in some cases, but not all) or you could consider surgical options (there are several). If you haven't done so already, then check out the site that hosts this forum for more information on the condition and solutions.
Hope this helps.
