Dan...Stretching, as Ralesk has suggested, is a non-invasive method of solving the problem of a somewhat short frenulum. Simply grasp the frenum area with your fingers and pull gently outward, holding the stretch, as PaulB suggested for foreskin stretching, for a minute or two. Do this several times a day and you should see good results in time, despite the presence of scar tissue.

The gross ignorance of many, or most, doctors concerning simple solutions to
problems of the prepuce and frenum belie their so-called professional expertise, as your experience has confirmed. Robin suggests that these "problems" should be recognized and attended to when we are infants or boys. But by whom? Medical "experts" have proven themselves incompetent, and many if not most of the advocates for surgical solutions have another agenda entirely. Information concerning the essential role of the intact prepuce in sexual intercourse should be provided for everyone. Understanding of the function of the foreskin and its frenum will then clearly establish the solutions open to individuals who wish to correct specific problems. Their choice, whether to cut or to stretch, will also reveal character and personality...not always a pretty sight, unfortunately.

Your decision to leave "as is" counts you 'one'. Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

>I posted a message earlier today about my torn frenulum, seeking help. I've been reading up on what I can find on the net, and I'm fairly sure I've found info related to my situation, in that it sounds like my frenulum is rehealing itself with inflexible scar tissue that doesn't stretch and keeps tearing. I think I may have had 'frenulum breve' and that this led to my current condition. I'm also upset that the doctor I went to see when it first happened didn't do or say much about it, or warn me of the possibilities for future problems.
>I am wondering if frenuloplasty is my only option? Is there any possibility it will "fix itself" on its own? If I do get frenuloplasty, will my frenulum be any less sensitive and less of a "pleasure spot"? Is there anyone here who's had the operation?
>Please help me, I'm pretty anxious and nervous about this. This sucks!
