Stretching works in some cases and not in others. To increase your chances for success you could see your doctor and see if he will prescribe some steroid creams which could greatly improve the chances of stretching working for you.
Sadly there are not many ways to resolve the problem. Really it boils down to leaving it alone, stretching, or there are a bunch of surgical options which will relieve the problem. If you haven't done so already, check out the site that hosts this forum. There is plenty of useful information there that might help.
