I don't see the difference. I had a similar poblem and underwent a frenuloplasty. My frenulum was cut in two. Some remaining skin was burnt away and remaining wounds were stiched up. Now, after six months, scarring is not noticable and just a very tiny piece of skin is pointing away from my glans. Hardly noticable. Now it is possible to almost completely retract my forskin without a lot of pain. The way you describe your procedure doesn't seem all that different. I guess if they don't burn away the skin, they would have to leave it some where. I wouldn't worry to much about that. The important this is ending up with a roomier foreskin.
