It will heal, but not connect up... what would actually logically make it connect up? Lemme try to illustrate with ASCII art

=#=------===== -- for me the upper part shrunk into a little bump, the ripped part stretched out and thinned somewhat. I wasn't keeping it pulled (that actually did hurt for a while, to pull the skin "flat"), the whole thing was left mostly unretracted, except for washing and so.
