Alas, the “professionals” can very well be — see the urologist in the story — biased, not up-to-date, greedy, misleading...

One thing is sure, a case of paraphimosis does not require circumcision, and — as I gather from above post — the ER simply pushed the foreskin forward again and that's about it, while the urologist later suggested and scheduled a circumcision for the child, which in true honesty is an overkill for this issue.
