able to retract ... exposing the whole glans, but ive only ... when my penis is flacid... worried about the chances of paraphimosis, and the foreskin still seems very tight. ... how long does it usually take to go from this state to a retractable foreskin while erect?

Reply: First, learn what to do in case of paraphimosis, before it happens. If it does, squeeze the penis head with your thumb and forefinger, forcing the blood to flow out of it and make it smaller, so that the foreskin can be pulled forward again.
Frequent retraction alone may help loosen the foreskin, but you can speed results with stretching. After soaking in hot water to make the skin elastic, seize the foreskin and stretch it apart near and at the opening. In sever cases, apply a corticosteroid cream to the outside of the foreskin for this procedure.
Once stretched so that retraction is not uncomfortable even with full erections, it should be safe to leave it retracted for prolonged periods, to keep from losing the stretching you achieved.
Many of us prefer the retracted position, even permanently, to fight problems with hygiene and hypersensitivity, to increase staying power during sex, and for the overall look and feel. Our partners prefer us this way too. Find out more at groups.yahoo.com "foreskinretraction" forum. Good luck.
