Last year, after many years of problem-free sex, I developed phimosis. My doctor, typically for where I live, wanted to perform a circumcision, but my girlfriend and I objected, so he performed a dorsal slit instead.
When it finally healed I found that the opening was enough to allow the glans to pass through in the flaccid state, but when I got an erection, it was barely wide enough, and formed a painful ring of scar tissue immediately below the head. This makes sex almost too painful to endure, and on the couple of occasions we've had intercourse, the skin has split slightly and bled .
When I went back to the specialist and told him I thought the opening needed to be larger, he disagreed and prescribed some steroid cream, which did nothing. I also suggested that the frenulum might be scarred and therefore tight, but he disagreed with this too.
Would an extension to the dorsal slit be of use, and would snipping the frenulum release pressure on the scar tissue? I would really welcome any suggestions, but absolutely want to avoid circumcision if possible. Thanks!
