As an answer to: Dorsal Slit written by Neil at 29 Jan 2004 00:21:50:

> Last year, after many years of problem-free sex, I developed phimosis. My doctor, typically for where I live, wanted to perform a circumcision, but my girlfriend and I objected, so he performed a dorsal slit instead.
> When it finally healed I found that the opening was enough to allow the glans to pass through in the flaccid state, but when I got an erection, it was barely wide enough, and formed a painful ring of scar tissue immediately below the head. This makes sex almost too painful to endure, and on the couple of occasions we've had intercourse, the skin has split slightly and bled .

Due to some dorsal slits having the problems you have, very few doctors do them and normally suggest a more usual circumcision.

As one that has had all his foreskin about half his life, I would say that the "benefits" of a foreskin are considerably overrated.

I went skinned back 30 years starting at about age 12. This went quite well for me and I highly recommend this.I don't suppose this option would be available to you with the scar tissue and tightness, and you would possibly be prone to the retracted skin being capable of swelling.

In midlife I did have a loose circumcision. I had felt that there was a tremendous amount of sensation in the (fore)skin on the underside. While this seems true, it is also correct that whatever amount of skin is on the underside the sensation is great there. With some skin removed the entire coronal ridge gets a lot better more direct stimulation. Cutting it off is no loss!
