The bruising could be normal considering it was not that long ago. However, I would imagine (from my experience) you should expect to be able to retract easily enough at this stage. I know of instances where the surgeon has not done the job fully and leaves a bit that pulls on the head that can cause pain. Of course, it could just be something mundane like swelling or stitches. To be sure, perhaps you should visit the doctor.
