As an answer to: Re: phimosis written by Ivan at 05 Feb 2004 03:33:08:

Prior to the paraphimosos, he did play with his penis while he takes showers and stuff.. But, he never retracted his foreskin. The first time his foreskin was retracted was when the paraphimosis occurred. Since then, he was scared to touch his penis because he thought "it was gonna get stuck again"..
That's why I've encouraged him to do the stretching exercises.
>>Hello everyone,

>>I started applying the cream the one you recommended beth (i can't remember the spelling, but you know which one I'm talking about). Anyhow, last night I applied it with a Q-tip and I have him rub the cream around his foreskin. He started doing stretching exercises and it almost with no problem is now retracting past his glans while flacid. It's amazing before when he's retract it would just pout now it actually rolls back and exposes the head of the penis but, my son does not retract it all the way back, fear of it getting stuck again. How will he know when it is right and danger free of the paraphimosis again??? It was great to see that the exercises are working and that his skin isn't as tight anymore, however I do fear the reoccurance of the paraphimosis!!

>A boy who needs to be told to touch his penis? Really, in addition to the regular stretching, just letting him know that it's okay to play with it in private times (bath, bed, etc.) will have him doing everything he needs to gain confidence. He's had a recent highly unpleasant experience. Allow the memory to fade and let experience show him how it works. He'll learn quickly enough.
