If he can already pull the skin behind the coronna (rim) of head and the skin does not get tight as it rolls over the coronna, then the danger of paraphimosis is almost gone.
Wht he should be careful of is retracting then getting erection. At onset of erection, he should pull skin forwards over glans, until erection is complete. Then, he can retract the skin as far as it will comfortably go without getting tight.
Eventually, he will find that his foreskin can retract easily even when hard, at which point, paraphimosis won't be a danger anymore.
