True - was irritated enough, and should have asked the urologist if he was circumcised - he was the most irritating, due to a combination of how much the guy cost to see, and his general manner. But, I've found I have a tendency to feel 2 feet tall in these guys surgeries. Who the hell am I to question a doctor...?
Once I got the patronising shake of the head and the "where'd you hear about these 'alternatives' - the internet?", I figured our chat wasn't going anywhere - he told me stretching caused as many problems as it solved, due to minute scars appearing on the stretched skin. A dorsal slit would only be performed (in his hospital, anyway), on a person suffering from paraphimosis (????) - in which case that person would be advised to have the full circ anyway. I didn't even bother asking him what he thought about the circumstances under which a frenuloplasty would be indicated...I've had the impression (from the few docs I've seen), that they don't take kindly to people arriving at their offices with at least some knowledge as to what may be the cause (or solution to) their particular problem. That said, I know there are plenty of people who post on here who've gone ahead and just had the circ, and are perfectly happy with the results. Who knows, I may just be joining their ranks over the coming months if I can't sort this out by myself fairly pronto.
