is this normal?

i was just wondering if its normal for the foreskin not to retract on its own when the penis is erect. I can retract my foreskin simply by pulling it over the head of my penis but i was just wondering if its supposed to retract on its own when my penis becomes erect. If it is supposed to, can you give me any advice?
