Frenulum torn... kind of... please help...

I'm 15, and last night, I was with my girlfriend, when I noticed a lot of blood on my trousers, and my bed. I rushed to the bathroom and found that my frenulum was bleeding. It has not become seperated from the foreskin, but is has been torn apart from about 8mm of the foreskin where it was once connected. After doing some research, I've found that it is fairly common for the frenulum to tear, but is this the same thing as I've read about? Does it heal on its own, or do I need to go to the doctor about it? Will it recover? I guess thats all I want to know.
