my frenulum ripped during sex

My frenulum just ripped and blood went everywhere. My girlfriend just fell asleep and I've been up reading about frenulum breve which is what I think I have. Do I neccessarily need surgury? My frenulum is (was) thin (luckily) but still high up on my penis. I was having sex when it just ripped out and I felt a lot of pain. I was really confused (as was my girlfriend who has had sex with me a lot before). The foreskin usually hurts a little when I pull it back but I thought that was just because my penis is somewhat larger than normal when errect and my girlfriend is fairly small. I guess that wasn't the reason after all and I am one of about 5% of the uncircumsized population that suffers from frenulum breve. Anyway, I looked at it after the bleeding died down a bit and there is basically a one milimeter crevace in the bottom of my penis where my frenulum was and there is some skin there hanging. I read an article on the web that said that if the frenulum is thin and it rips, the skin receds into the flesh of the penis. After it ripped I saw some hanging skin which I just sort of pulled off. Nontheless, does anyone know if I'll need surgery or I can just wait for it to heal. Also, what are the risks of bacterial infection? Should I be cleaning it in a certain way.
