Prior to my partial circ, I had read up many many urology hooks at medical library. Yet, while circumcision techniques were extremely well described, the "normal" foreskin was not. In fact, I never found any authoritative descrition of an "average" foreskin.
However, in some books, I came to what might be considered the "text book" foreskin, whichj is one which covers all the head when flaccid and automatically exposes the whole glans during erection.
Note however that while textbooks may portray the foreskin as above, I think that it continues to cover head during erection for fair percentage of males.
The one definition of "redundant" foreskin I had seen in one medical book was one which could not stay behind the glans during erection and would slip back over head. Personally, I think this is a pretty extreme definition.
