>Where exactly 'on the ridge' is the white colour? Could it be that what you're seeing is just dried smegma? If you haven't retracted in 20 years, and so haven't been able to wash behind the ridge of the glans, you may have a bit of a buildup of smegma that's collected there over the years, and the foreskin is stuck to that rather than an adhesion. When flaccid, try gently retracting as far behind the glans as you can, (but never to the point of pain) and have a close look and gentle wash with warm water. If it IS smegma that's built up, you'll be able to wash it away thus freeing up the foreskin further.

Sadly, I don't think this is the case. One of the first things I did once I'd retracted for the first time was to do it again in the shower to clean it, so if it were dried smegma, I'm thinking it would have come off then. How tight can dried smegma stick? :-/

>Mightn't be a bad idea to at least go see ur GP to talk about it, if nothing else. Embarrassing, and traumatic, I know, but he's probably seen guys in a lot worse shape than you, and you'll feel better for having spoken to someone. Have you a brother or mate to confide in?

Yeah, the more I think about seeing my NHS GP and trying to get him to refer me to a urology consultant, the more I try to psyche myself up for it. But the thought of actually doing it for real still makes me feel like wretching. I don't have any brothers unfortunately, and this isn't the kind of thing I could discuss with my mates. Outside of the internet, I'm all alone on this one.

>I was in the exact same boat as you 4 months ago and decided to try stretching as a means of fixing the problem before going for a more drastic option. Progress is slow, but steady, I think, and is gonna take a lot more time. If I've learned anything, it's that there seems to be plenty of other guys out there with the same or similiar problems. Don't despair - tis fixable.

You've no idea how relieving it is to hear that. The stretching I think (well, hope) will work out ok. The adhesion has me scared shitless, but if I manage to pluck up the courage to see a GP about that, I may as well ask for advice on the general tightness as well.
