You should question his knowledge. Have you TOLD him that they exist? Because if many of the non-medical vocation-orientated people such as many of those on this board know full right that they exist then a trained urologist most definitely should too. I would consider talking to a G.P about this issue and maybe get referred to another urologist?

In my own case of phimosis, I did also ask for a partial circ (my GP knows definitely what one of those is!) but I was recommended the full deal and so that's what I ended up having done a year ago and I'm more than happy with the result. If I were you I wouldn't totally rule out a full circ (unless you have any qualms about reduction in sensitivity etc.) but I personally doubt that your urologist has the knowledge/understanding/attitude for such a task.
