Again, thanks for the reply.
>>The adhesion is really worrying me. It's only a little bit, only a couple of millimetres in width along the corona, but it's stuck pretty tight. I don't think it's just dried smegma, as I've already given it a gentle tug in the shower.
>Keep on trying.I have, but it's still stuck tight. It does look a little more red than it used to - not inflamed or aggravated or anything - but rather as if it's "noticed" the pressure being applied to it recently, which I suppose is stating the obvious.
The other problems I reported initially seem to be going well. Much of the colour around the corona turned out to be dried smegma, which when washed & wiped off revealed the corona to be, as you said, darker than the rest of the glans. It does at least now look "normal". The general tightness I have 9I think!) diagnosed as both a slightly tight frenulum and a (very) mild phimotic ring. There's a definite whiter section to the foreskin as I roll it back, which also happens to be the tightest. The reason I say it's very mild is that a couple of months ago, I couldn't retract much at all, even when flaccid. Now i can retract (just) when flaccid, and i can now get the skin about half-way down the glans when erect.
Things aren't helped by the fact that my penis is very small when flaccid. It's less than 2", although (fortunately!) when erect it's of normal length. Not sure if there's anything you can suggest as a way round this, but obviously it makes it tricky to retract and clean when flaccid as there's not much shaft to work with (and I can't yet retract when erect, so flaccid is the only option for now).
So that's everything cleared up... I'm working on the tightness of frenulum and foreskin with reasonable results so far, and cleaning the glans has returned it to a healthy colour. It's just this adhesion which I'm still concerned about.
>>I've also read that whether adult adhesions are self removed or surgically separated, it can leave the glans extremely sensitive to the extent that you only feel pain through it.
>Sounds bullshitty to me. I think I mentioned in a reply to you, forced separation is the first step of a circumcision (especially those done on preteens), and we don’t hear them complain about feeling only pain through the glans. The adults shouldn't be any different there. As far as the glans’s surface is concerned, if it hadn’t been exposed, it will likely be more sensitive than if it had. Many people who have grown up not having retracted their foreskin report that their glans is rather painful — this, of course, will pass as time goes on. The very same applies to the adhesion.Well, that's certainly reassuring. Unfortunately, as I mentioned, the adhesion shows no sign of shifting yet. I guess I've got ~20 years of not retracting to make up for, but is it possible to say when enough is enough, to conclude that it's not going to separate naturally?
Second question about the adhesion: I think you mentioned exercises to do that could help release it. Since it's obviously the inner foreskin that is fused to the corona (and bearing in mind I can't yet retract when erect), what can I do to encourage it's release, other than a gentle (and painful) tug when flaccid in the shower?
>>What scares me the most is that so far it looks as though it's stuck too tight to remove myself - at least, not without excruciating amounts of pain and permanent damage.
>I heavily doubt the permanent damage part, however I do understand the excruciating pain — having been there and done that.I think I can imagine just how excruciating it would be, just from gently pulling at it. Tbh, I'm more concerned that the corona hasn't developed properly where the adhesion occurs. Or maybe it has, and I just can't tell from the little bit of foreskin that's still attached; hard to say really.
If I were to see a GP or urologist about it, what are the possible treatments? You said a GP could separate it there and then, rather than a urologist. Would this be simply by pulling on it? Under a local anesthetic? Do steroid creams or suchlike help with adhesions? Obviously having any kind of surgery is the last resort, so if there's less instrusive, more natural ways of separating the foreskin and glans while leaving the glans nice and healthy, then I'm all for it.
It's just so depressing though. I go to bed and wish I could just wake up with a normal, properly functioning, correctly formed penis. I go out and see an attractive girl that I'd love to talk to, but am actually scared in case it leads somewhere and I can't have sex in this state. :-/
