>Ralesk is to be commende for doing an excellent job of guiding you through this. You apparently had a considerable amount of paraphimotic swelling, which at its worse can be even more drastic and damaging than the discomfort you experienced. In fact much of the advice given by the medical community is very strong for "immediately returning the foreskin forward" as soon as possible to reduce the chances for Paraphimosis to occur. On the other side of the fence there are uncircumcised men all over the world that do wear the foreskin retracted of their choice. The reasons being it is easier to keep clean, emulates the appearance of a circ, which to many is a sexier look. It also is more accepted by gals whose brothers, etc are circed because it looks quite similar.

Of course, outside the U.S., that latter thing isn’t all that common.

>So Jim Bob, you actually have 3 choices: keep the foreskin forward, wear the foreskin retracted if it adapts to that position with less swellings as it becomes adapted to that placement, or end all potential foreskin problems by removing the foreskin.

I would definitely not suggest the second choice right now. Currently, his foreskin is swollen, and otherwise tight, so it’d probably end up giving a similar result as it did now (although I’d expect it to be milder — swelling can severely increase the size of the foreskin).

The best advice, whatever route he’ll take later, is to leave it alone until things heal and the swelling goes away. It’s most important that his penis is allowed to recover from this accident and he himself relaxes and thinks for a while. Hasty decisions rarely lead to anything good.

I strongly believe that his wish for a circumcision is a result of the frustration with an unretractable foreskin and this accident he now had. It’s not a required step to treat his condition. Also does it come with stitches and lots of swelling — we’ve just had the latter for weeks, haven’t we?

>There are good points to each way. Foreskins are well adapted to providing an ideal pressuring, crinkling, massage to the corona that feels good and leads to orgasm by hand. As mentioned they often can be adapted to stay behind the glans either "permanently" or convertibly either position. This is easier to keep clean,

Once you can retract a foreskin, nothing is hard to clean on it, whether or not you wear it behind the head.

>provides less damp sheltered area between skin and glans for disease organisms to flourish. Candida infections occur mainly in the female, but can occur in the uncircumcised male.

Some bacteria in these areas are there to fight candida and other fungi.

>Once your paraphimotic problem has been worked through you would hardly be expected to have a reoccurance if the skin ends up adapting to being behind the glans.

I disagree. Although it’s well expected to be quite a bit less tight, it is by far not safe to say that it’s safe to wear retracted.

>Men who keep the foreskin always forward are capable of getting paraphimosis if a nurse has to catheterize them and then doesn't pull the foreskin forward.

Huh? A retractible foreskin is a retractible foreskin, whether worn majorly forward or not.

>>Everyone will tell different things. Some will go on and praise how getting circumcised made them the happiest person in the whole world, some will say the opposite.
>This is correct. Some people are so strongly anti circumcision that they actually induldge in making any circed person they can convince that they are missing something and making them feel bad in general.

And some people are so strongly pro circumcision they actually indulge in making intact people feel dirty, a source of disease, and threatened by all kinds of diseases themselves, trying to convince them that the permanently exposed glans is the best thing since sliced bread and that less is more. Let’s not forget to mention the other side as well, shall we?

>So naturally once thus browbeat and brainwashed sex will not be enjoyable.
>I've experienced all three ways- intact covered to age 12, skinned back till age 42, loose circe for over 35yrs after that. No sensitivity problems (infact the coronal edge where most orgasmic triggering comes from is better triggered with less insulation by foreskin).

People differ, that’s really what I can say about that. I won’t question your personal experience, just as you didn’t mine.
