As an answer to: Re: foreskin retraction written by Paul at 29 Apr 2004 22:33:54:
>Thanks. Just a few questions: How long will it take until i can fully retract my foreskin?
Depends on a whole lot of factors, usually one sees results almost immediately, and one or two months result in serious change. From there it’s mainly just fine-tuning.
>Will steroid cream aid or speed up the process (if so, where can i get it and what is it called?)
Yes they do. Doctors can prescribe you Betamethasone-based creams or ointments (there is a product called Betnovate®). As with all steroids, the same care should be taken when using them — they shouldn’t be used for too long, consecutively.
>When I can conveniently contract my foreskin what methods should i then use to get full retraction?
Retract. You will see — every person differs, so while you might only take two weeks, some can take six to reach that. Conveniently? If it’s not too convenient, you’ll have to continue with the exercises for a little and it’ll get better.
>When my foreskin fully retracts how long will i have to wait before i masturbate or have sexual intercourse?
There is nothing stopping you from masturbation, as there you have direct control over the foreskin’s movement — moreso, it helps the whole process. As for sex, the only thing stopping you there might be: 1) the foreskin is too tight to be safely retracted and there is a chance for paraphimosis, and 2) the retraction of the foreskin is not quite convenient yet (which is mostly caused by a short frenulum or a somewhat tight foreskin opening).
>And finally, how likely is it that the stretching methods will be successful?
It’s very likely. Fungal infections and rarer skin conditions such as LSA can hinder the process, but lacking these it should work almost every time.
