You gave a very good description of varicose veins and it may be that if you ask some family members they too may have them, as this tendency does run in families. Now, there is usually no sigificance to these other than it suggests that the same mechanism is in place for you to get hemorrhoids! It is due to a weakening of the valves in the internal venous drainage system.
