As an answer to: Re: frenulum sensitivity written by David_R at 06 May 2004 15:51:42:

Sam, I believe your question is being asked because some things you have read or heard from anti circ people have raised the questions in your mind which would otherwise not have been there. Dave R has presented some very good info on this for you and others.

Dave wrote:

>the build-up to orgasm occurs nicely when the shaft feels pressure around it (think vaginal muscles) and the glans is sliding against lubricated vaginal tissue (not in and out of a foreskin- anyone can do that without the need for another body) and the mucosa/frenulum is being pulled on. All of this adds up to the best feelings that bring you to orasm. The most obvious argument against the anti-circumcision stance that the glans becomes completely insensitive is, (even if it did- and it doesn't-) that when men masturbate they hardly ever stimulate the glans to any degree. Men get off quickly and satisfactorily if they want to by moving the skin of the shaft, applying by grip, moderate pressure to the shaft and sometimes just letting the fist on the upstroke just slide past the corona. That should have ended all the arguments against glans sensitivity because the living proof is the vast majority of cut men in the world are having great sex- with a maintenance free organ.

I believe this site was originated largely to provide education and advice to guys entering their active sex lives and not having enough information on how things are suppossed to work. With those that are uncircumcised one of the problems that advice is asked for is how to get a tight phimotic foreskin to be mobile so as to be retractible and not hamper sexual activity. The other question that is often asked is how to deal with the painful sensitivity of the glans that is noted when it is first exposed. The answer to that one always is to expose it to air more. As this does work there are some people that call this a loss in "sensitivity" and suggest it is to be avoided by keeping the glans covered with the foreskin.

Now if you add that to Dr Taylors findings that the glans can stand pain and that there happen to be a lot of nerve endings in a foreskin- and you have the explanation for the case that could be made against circumcision. Taylor went into his "research" on corpses hoping to find some reason not to have to spring for circumcising his three sons. He never bothered to delve further and find that the nerve sensors in the foreskin were about the same as in any other skin- they tell you if the body part is hot or cold, has been touched or bumped into something". It matters little whether you have every square centimeter of the foreskin you were born with- when you are horny and pursuing orgasm the whole pleasure and orgasm triggering is from nerve endings that display no sensitivity when your're not horny. And these sensors are indeed best stimulated by deep pressure. The guys that have had a little skin trimmed away are getting better stimulation, more direct.

As far as what Dave suggests about glans sensitivity, you have to consider the main function of the glans is penetration, and it needn't be wimpy soft and tender for that! Get it into a vagina and the walls of that will do their job on the corona, sulcus, and frenulum area sweet spot evryone has.

Enjoy!
