Today is my day 11. Just got back from the doctor about 5 hours ago. I was diagnosed with an infection at the tear, and the swelling was actually fluid trapped inside. The doctor had to squeeze out some blood from my torn wound to do a culture and MAN, that hurt so bad without anesthetics that I screamed!!! I got an antibiotic shot, a pain killer shot and got an antibiotic prescription: Cephalexin 500mg and a bottle of Endocet (a very very strong pain killer). He also allowed me to start showering. He didn't just allow showering, but he ordered me to shower two times a day. What a relieve that I can finally shower. (I have called the nurse on day 2 regarding showering, and she said as long as there is still blood, do not shower.) Showering was not pain at all for the glands, probably because I have rinse the glands before daily in the past 6 months in the shower by pulling back. This time, I just didn't touch the little swollen and bruised and infected buddy because it may be too painful. I figured, if I have to shower 2 times a day, whatever dirt on it will be rinsed off in a few days, if not sooner.

BTW, I hope I have not confused too many people. But David_R, I am not in Denmark. In fact, I am in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

>>>I am begining to think that they do not bandage the penis very well in Denmark :-)
>You're right!
>I woke up after the surgery, and my penis was in bandage. I was given something to eat and drink, told to wash myself carefully in order to avoid infections and to see my own doc in 2 weeks to have the stitches removed (if still there). The bandage was removed by a nurse the first time I had to go to the toilet. Then I was given a package of soft bandages and some local anaesthetic creme, no real comments except that I should use it. Then they sent me home.
>Believe it or not, that's it!
>Neither before nor after the surgery I was told about stuff like how long time the swellings will stay, temporary glans hyper sensitivity etc.
>Anyway, all that is in the past now. I don't know if the lack of information was caused by ignorance or negligence, but it is most certainly annoying to feel that you are on your own in a situation like this. That's why I searched the net, and fortunately found this site and forum.
